Coachella 2015
Thursday, April 11th
Right from the start we wish we had driven to Coachella Thursday morning instead of Thursday night. Leaving late afternoon meant two things: rush hour traffic and rushing in rush hour traffic. After finally reaching our desert destination, we hit the town to catch some of the kick-off parties—especially the Tilly’s soiree going down at the Hard Rock.
Friday, April 12th
The game plan for Saturday was Hip Hop, and the day’s line up didn’t disappoint. We kicked it off by catching Action Bronson do his thing. Kimbra put on an amazing show, while Azalea Banks was just ‘eh’. We ended the day by catching the last part of the Raekwon and Ghostface Killa show. But, we weren’t finished yet. We got to witness the awesomeness that is AC/DC. They proved why this generation of EDM heads should respect their rock star roots.
Saturday, April 13th
On Saturday, we pretty much stuck to the main stage because the back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back line up was absolutely bananas. Chet Faker got it going. Hozier kept it going. Jack White was f***ing Jack White! And, The Weeknd brought it all home perfectly. The Weeknd was one of our favorite moments of the festival by far.
Sunday, April 14th
After going a few days doing the Hobo Shower, it was nice to finally take a real one. Once we got cleaned up and put some real food in our systems, it was time to rock out for the final day of the festival. Not sure how we lost some of our crew, but we did. It didn’t matter though;
we ran solo missions the rest of the day and met some new friends along the way. Highlights of the night: The Orwells, Kaskade, Watching Florence and The Machine and Madonna sucking face with Drake.
Lesson learned: Update your phone and all your apps before you decide to depend on the Coachella app to get you through the weekend.
Until the next festival…peace out!
