Bill Kiely – Partner/Co-Founder
Bill Kiely founded Windowseat in 2003 as a platform for telling compelling visual stories in multiple formats including episodic television, commercials, live webcasts and mini-documentaries. For over a decade Bill developed his directorial skills working with brands such as Vans, Nike, Converse, Bud Light and more.
Windowseat’s dynamic slate of branded content enabled Bill to travel to incredible locales and work with many talented people over the years, with the ultimate goal of parlaying these relationships and experiences into cinematic storytelling. As such, in 2012 Bill shifted his creative energy from working on branded materials towards longer-form, narrative storytelling. His award-winning work as a director has provided Bill with a foundation upon which to focus his passions exclusively on feature films. In 2013, Bill directed the documentary feature Chasing Giants, an intimate exploration of big wave surfing legend Shane Dorian and his complex relationship with Mother Nature.
Bill is currently working on three feature films in various stages of development. Adrift, which he co-wrote and will direct, is in pre-production and will shoot in fall 2016. A Mile High and Kook are both in development and are expected to go into pre-production in 2017.
Bill has produced a number of films under the Windowseat banner including The Bachelors starring J.K. Simmons, Julie Delpy and Odeya Rush; The Adderall Diaries, starring James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris and Cynthia Nixon; Barely Lethal starring Jessica Alba, Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson; and Crash Pad, starring Domhnall Gleeson, Thomas Haden Church, Nina Dobrev and Christina Applegate.
